A First Look at Results from the Aviation Maintenance Fatigue Survey
The University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign recently teamed with a multi-disciplinary Maintenance Fatigue Working Group to carry out a maintenance industry fatigue benchmark study. The online survey, which took about 15 minutes to complete, was hosted at the University of Illinois to collect data on maintenance technician work practices and operational conditions related to work and duty patterns across the industry. This information was collected as part of ongoing efforts to inform future advisory and rulemaking efforts. Initial data returns from the survey will be shared and the floor will be opened up as a forum to receive feedback from industry professionals on the data and representation for the final report to the FAA.
